Not Working

Stories from American Workers

St. Louis

We’ve had a whirlwind of a few days here in St. Louis. This city has really shown a ton of support for the Not Working project. It began with my good friend (and all-star journalist) John Tucker who helped put me in touch with some key folks. John does some amazing writing for the River Front Times so I knew he’d be plugged into this city and, indeed, he is.

John introduced me to Chris Kuban over at Chemistry Multimedia. Chris has been remarkably generous with his network. He lined up a chance for me to talk about the project on a local morning show. That opportunity was a huge tool for reaching out to folks who have stories to tell. This city is filled with stories of lost jobs. This city is filled with survivors.

Thanks also to Steve Giegerich at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, as well as the good folks at the GO! Network.

Amazing partners in this city.

As St. Louis seems to connect just about every region of the country — defying inclusion in any of them — we thought it’d be a good time to take a look back at all the places we’ve been since the beginning of June. Check out the new video.

Onward, as always.
