Not Working

Stories from American Workers

Tammy Moss

I suppose I’ve failed to mention that this cross-country trip is being made in a 1999 Jeep with 140,000 miles and NO AC. The mode of transport didn’t seem important until, well, a wheel fell off just outside of West Virginia.

I’ve heard the phrase ‘the wheels are coming off.’

Now I have experienced it.

Luckily I was able to pull over to the side of the road without any major incident. But really, we couldn’t have traveled another inch. THE WHEEL CAME OFF AS I PULLED TO A STOP.

Indeed, we are all grateful for our safety. So I’d like to take this moment to thank Beulah (that’s the jeep’s name) for all the hard work she’s done.

Hang in there, girl.

We’re pressing east with updates from Wheeling soon to come. For now, we offer up a new video from our interview with Tammy Moss back in Missouri.

Tammy is an accountant who was laid off nearly three years ago. As you’ll hear from Tammy herself, she’s been looking for work ever since.
